👉If you’re a business owner, you’ve probably felt the shift since Apple’s data privacy changes. What used to be an easy win - paid ads - became an uphill battle. Ads on platforms like Facebook and Instagram weren’t delivering, costs were soaring, and results were dropping... (Google Shopping is my way to go for now and the only channel that delivers results atm).
😵After trying everything, working with agencies and optimising ads myself, I realised that relying solely on paid ads (and constantly adjusting to changes and updates) can't sustain a business long-term. So, I made the decision to stop chasing quick wins and focus on building something more sustainable 📈
Here’s what I’ve been focusing on instead:
✨ Partnerships: Collaborating with amazing brands like yhangry and AllBright has opened up new, authentic communities.
✨ SEO: Organic traffic now drives 30% of our sales, with plans to push that to 40% this year.
✨ Retention: Most of our customers visit the site FIVE times before making a purchase, so email flows have been essential for re-engaging visitors.
✨ Organic Social: We are currently working on launching a capsule collection with a top content creator to tap into new communities and drive real, purchase-intending traffic to our website.
✨ PR: Using affordable PR platforms like Press Loft, we’ve secured media features that raised brand awareness.
✨ Cross-Selling and Upselling: By expanding our product range, like offering matching napkin rings for napkins or candles for holders, we’ve increased order values.
🙌 It’s been a shift, but the results speak for themselves. I’ve learned that organic growth and authentic connections are the true keys to long-term success. This approach takes time, of course, but it’s a journey I’m willing to invest in and bet on.
I’d love to hear how other business owners are adapting to these changes. Let’s connect and share insights!
